It's normal to have questions before you book your session! Your boudoir session is about the entire experience from start to finish, not just the session itself. I'm here to answer any questions you have along the way.
Once you book you session, I'll even send you a guide full of simple tips to make sure your session experience is the best it can be!
That said, here are answers to the most common questions that I receive.
What is boudoir photography?
Boudoir photography is about capturing moments that are intimate, sensual, and, at times, suggestive. The subject is often wearing lingerie, sleepwear, or less clothing. Boudoir photography is often done as a gift for a partner, but it's also common for an individual to book their own session to celebrate their unique beauty, both inner and outer.
Why select you as my boudoir photographer?
If you've read this far, it's likely a safe assumption that you like the aesthetic of the images I create with my clients. In addition to creating photos you'll be proud of, I make sure all of my clients have an enjoyable and memorable session. With over 15 years of experience, I know how to guide you along every step of the way, from wardrobe planning to posing.
What's the first step to book a session?
Booking a session is a simple as heading to the booking page. Answer a few quick questions, then I'll be in touch so we can set a specific date. Once we select a date and the session deposit is paid, you're officially on the schedule! I'll send you a my custom boudoir photography prep guide that is filled with tips and tricks to ensure you're fully prepared for your session. During the session, we'll review the photos together as we shoot—this is always a guaranteed confidence boost. Within 7 days of our shoot, I'll send you a gallery link so you can be part of the selection process. Once images are selected, I'll have final edits to you within 14 days.
How much does a session cost?
Session fees, deposits, packages, investments, albums... every photographer has their own way of pricing their services and it can certainly get confusing when you're comparing.
That's why I like to start with a quick call or email. We'll discuss the session pricing, what it's like during the session, outfit options, hair and makeup, and more. :)
Where is your studio located?
I use various Airbnb rental properties for my sessions. This provides my clients with a variety of aesthetics and keeps me from needing to own and manage a studio space. If you like a location in a particular photo I've shared, let me know and we'll try to book that specific space!
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept credit/debit cards, PayPal, and cash. A 3.5% processing fee will be charged for use of electronic payment methods.
You're a male boudoir photographer? Why?
Good question! After numerous friends and soon-to-be clients contacted me asking if I offered boudoir, I decided to take the leap. I understand that some may feel more comfortable working with a female photographer, while others prefer the artistic style and vision of a male photographer. Ultimately, it's your choice who you feel the most comfortable working with!
Do you only shoot boudoir photography for women?
I offer boudoir sessions to anyone looking to feel empowered and confident or give their partner that perfect gift.
Will I feel comfortable during my session?
Of course! Your comfort is very important to me because if you're not comfortable, it's challenging to capture good photos. During the session we'll have some light background music playing and I'll periodically pause to show you the photos we are capturing. We can take a short break at any time. I find that most clients start out a little nervous since it's often a brand new experience. After a few minutes, you'll get into the flow and we'll be capturing stunning photos. But don't just take it from me—check out my client testimonials.
How long is a session?
The duration of the session depends on the package you select, but I find that most sessions last around 2 hours.
What should I expect during the session?
For the session, expect a chill and upbeat environment. I want you to have fun and enjoy your session! I'll guide you through poses and expressions. Some poses can be a little strenuous, so I'll make sure we have breaks as needed.
Do you offer hair and makeup services?
I currently offer makeup as an add-on to packages for $85.
What should I wear?
I recommend bringing a variety of outfits. It's nice to have a range of options from lingerie to more conservative garments like robes. I'll work with you to make the best selection.
Where can I buy sexy lingerie?
There are so many online lingerie stores offering a range of styles and prices. I've had clients wear inexpensive sets from Shein and others wear custom $600 sets they purchased in Las Vegas. Here are a few sites I suggest. Many offer discounts on your first order. If you shop through Adore Me, using my link will give you 50% off your order!

Do you offer a "client closet" for wardrobe?
I don't offer a "client closet". I believe in making your session as unique to you as possible, and a I believe that you directly selecting your wardrobe really helps to personalize the experience. It's also fun to have a partner pick out some outfits for you! If you need some suggestions for where to purchase lingerie, see the links in the next FAQ.
Will I be expected to pose a certain way or wear specific clothing?
The choice of poses and clothing is ultimately up to you. I will work with you before we begin shooting to understand your preferences, comfort level, and vision for the shoot.
Is professional modeling experience required?
No experience modeling or posing is required—this is where I come in! Nearly two decades of experience has taught me not only the most flattering poses for you, but how to communicate them to you simply.
How should I prepare for my session?
Basic preparation steps include hydrating well and getting a good night of sleep prior to the shoot. Avoid spray tans and perform any waxing or shaving a few days in advance to prevent redness. When you book your session, I'll send you a full guide which includes these tips and many others.
Are my photos kept private? Will they be shared online?
I take your privacy very seriously and this is something you determine prior to the session. All photos from the session are stored on encrypted drives that only I have access to. While many appreciate having their photos showcased, others prefer to keep photos private between them and their partner. Our boudoir session agreement will let you state whether or not online sharing is allowed.
How long will it take to receive my photos?
Within a week of your shoot date I'll send a private link for you to review and select photos. Once you have made your final selection, allow 2-3 weeks for me to edit the photos.
Will you remove blemishes, make me look thinner, etc.?
Boudoir is about celebrating your natural beauty so I keep retouching to a minimum. I'll remove any skin blemishes and provide subtle skin smoothing. My aesthetic is more about showcasing natural beauty as opposed to excessive skin smoothing that can make you look plastic or fake.
Can I bring a friend or a partner to the session?
For sure! I encourage clients to do what makes them the most comfortable. I ask that guests be limited to one, and that your guest remains in an adjacent area during the session. While having a friend or partner nearby can be comforting, we don't want an extra set of eyes making you anxious or self-conscious.
Do all the photos need to be sexy?
During a session I like to capture a mix of photos that are sexy and some that are flirty and fun. The level of sexiness for the session is totally up to you.
Do you offer couples boudoir?
I do not offer couples boudoir at this time.
